Samson and Varma put on a masterclass, scoring 120* off 47 balls and 109* off 56 balls, respectively, setting a record second-wicket partnership of 210 runs off just 86 balls. Samson also became the first-ever batter to score three T20I centuries in a calendar year. South Africa's chase of 284 faltered as they were dismissed for 148 in 18.2 overs, with Arshdeep Singh taking 3 wickets for 20 runs.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and chose to bat first. Centuries from Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma powered India to a formidable total of 283/1 from 20 overs, with both batters notching their second centuries of the series.

With this win, India secured a 3-1 series victory. Since their T20 World Cup win in June, India remains unbeaten in the bilateral T20I series, having defeated Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and now South Africa.
